Using the platform of the Galant, the Endeavor is a crossover SUV that turns in a highly competitive performance. Buyers choose between front- or all-wheel drive with no low range. The Endeavor is not intended for serious off roading. It is, however, meant for family transport, which it does well. The Endeavor is roomy in the front seat, roomy in the second row seat and offers impressive cargo capacity.

The 3.8-liter V-6 performs well, accelerating smartly at the beginning of a run. As speeds climb, however, the engine becomes less enthusiastic. Fortunately, the transmission downshifts promptly to aid acceleration. Ride and handling are average for the crossover class of vehicles and approach the levels of refinement expected in a passenger car.

Conclusion: A very competent performer.
