| This premium luxury car is unbeatable in the categories of comfort, silence, refinement and isolation. Comfort and room are exceptional in the front and rear compartments. The ride is stable. Handling is secure, though far from sporty. Most telling is the Ultra Luxury Package, which includes rear seat controls for the audio system and climate control and heated and cooled power adjustable rear seats with massage units. In other words, this is the Lexus for the owner who hires a driver. Many owners might be tempted to do this. Of all the premium luxury cars available, the Lexus LS 430 encourages the least driver involvement. The optional Euro suspension improves the vehicle's dynamics with little impact on ride harshness, but driving enthusiast will probably look elsewhere. Nonetheless, the Lexus LS 430 avoids several of the pitfalls that have taken a toll on the German competition. Controls remain simple to use and quality has not been sacrificed for the sake of including advanced and unproven technology. Audiophiles should also note that the Mark Levinson upgrade is superb. Conclusion: A great car for all it does right. Driving enthusiasts can be happy with it, but they will probably long for something more. Everyone else will love it for what it is. |
