| There is simply no other vehicle that combines the level of luxury and off-road capabilities that are to be found in the Range Rover. The price is steep, but for people who want both the luxury and the competence off road, few other vehicles compete. Now, Range Rover has announced a Sport model to be equipped with a 4.4-liter Jaguar V-8 or a supercharged 4.2-liter Jaguar engine. More about desire than need, the Range Rover delivers exceptional front seat comfort. Three in the back seat also do well, although the Range Rover has no third row seat. Materials used throughout the interior, including handsome woods and leathers, are first rate. The Range Rover handles bumps with competence, but rough and broken pavement may occasionally jostle passengers. The body structure is solid. Handling is good, although rapid steering maneuvers are dulled by the weight of the vehicle and the tire's grip on the road. Conclusion: Capable, luxurious and expensive, the Range Rover is in a world of its own. |
