| The Accent is Hyundai's least expensive car in this country. It is also the company's least enticing vehicle. Available as a three-door hatchback or four-door sedan in several trim levels, the Accent defines basic transportation. All models feature a 1.6-liter engine that produces 104 horsepower. Acceleration is weak, but noise levels during full-throttle applications are reasonable for the sub-compact class. Most people, nonetheless, would consider it noisy. The ride is reasonably good and handling is predictable if unimpressive. The tires give up their grip early during cornering.
Tall front seat passengers will notice limited leg room. In the back, these same folks will also find leg room and head room a little short. The trunk is par for the class, which is to say small, but the rear seat folds. Most notable is the warranty, which at 5-years/60,000 miles bumper-to-bumper (with the usual exclusions) and 10-years/100,000 miles on the drivetrain, is one of the industry's longest. Note that the drivetrain warranty is not transferable. Conclusion: You can buy better for just a little more loot. Also, many late-model used cars will perform better.
