While it takes a trained eye to see it from the outside, Chrysler has made significant changes to its minivans for 2005. Most obvious is the arrival of Stow 'n Go second and third row seats. These fold with ease to create a flat load floor. When up, the wells that hold the folded seats under the floor form useful storage areas. Unfortunately, Stow 'n Go is available only on extended wheelbase models. Also new for 2005 are side airbags.

Regular length vans feature limited knee room for adults in the second or third rows. Extended wheelbase models offer more space to rear passengers and have more cargo capacity behind the rear seat.

Extended wheelbase models ride with the ease and stability of a good passenger car. Short wheelbase models can become choppy over some pavement.

Handling is also good and reminiscent of many passenger cars. Braking is good.

Engines are not quite up to the standards set by some other minivan makers. The 3.3-liter V-6 should be fine for regular length models; the 3.8-liter V-6 does better, but neither will serve as a reference for refinement.

Conclusion: There is a reason the minivans from Chrysler--the Town & Country and similar Dodge Caravan--continue to outsell all the others. While some competitors perform better in some area, the performance and price of the Chrysler vans keeps these models attractive.
