| The RSX hatchback sport coupe is the entry level Acura. While the 200-horsepower Type-S may garner most of the attention on the showroom floor, the base model with 160 horsepower also deserves consideration. Both engines have to be revved to produce a satisfying performance. This car is not for everyone. The suspension system in the base model can produce some abrupt ride motions over rough pavement. The Type-S rides even more stiffly. All of this pays dividends when it comes to handling, of course. The RSX is clearly a driver's car. Headroom in the front seat is in short supply for taller adults. The rear seat is difficult to reach and confining even for larger children. Head room is in short supply. Cargo capacity is reasonable, and the rear seats are split and fold. Highway cruising produces relatively high noise levels in the rain or on coarse pavement. Even in dry weather, there is noticeable tire noise and the engine makes its presence known when pressed. Conclusion: Perfect for drivers who relish a performance sport coupe, the RSX is not the best bet for motorists interested in a more relaxed ride. |
