The latest Acura RL is a very good car. All-wheel drive combined with
Acura's SH-AWD (Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive) power distribution
system gives the car exceptional handling capabilities, even on wet
pavement. The engine is powerful, yet refined. Working with the five-speed automatic transmission with sequential sport shift capabilities, it delivers satisfying acceleration from just about any speed.The interior is very nicely done. Acura has wisely allowed direct access to audio and climate control functions, rather than requiring a driver to drill down through a series of computer menus to make changes in the sound system or cabin temperature. Drivers can also use the car's expanded voice activation system for hands-free operation of many of these secondary controls. Every RL includes a navigation system and the ability to access XM NavTraffic (tm) for real-time traffic reports in many larger markets. A DVD-Audio Bose music system is also standard and performs superbly. About the only complaint centers on the rear seat. Here, taller adults will feel cramped with the front seats moved back. Conclusion: While there was nothing really wrong with the last RL, the new RL performs better and is much more fun to drive. It deserves careful consideration. |
