Destination Charge

Most of us have become familiar with seeing large 18 wheel trucks carry racks of new cars. The cars that you see on these trucks are on their way from the manufacturer to the dealership sales floor. The destination charge (which most auto dealers pass onto the consumer) is what a dealer pays to have a car transported on those trucks. The destination charge is a real cost to the dealership and is typically not negotiable. But the destination charge should be consistent from dealership to dealerhips for the same make and model of car. If you suspect that your dealer is trying to charge an inflated destination charge then call around to other dealerships in your area an ask them what their destination charge is for the vehicle you are interested in.
